She recently refused Karan Johar ’s proposal to star opposite John Abraham but now the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is being sought after by another filmmaker for a role opposite the dashing star.
And that filmmaker is none other than Rohan Sippy, who would finally be starting his next venture after Bluffmaster , though this time in the capacity of a producer.
With John confirmed as a lead man, this untitled venture would in good probability feature Ash as the lady opposite the hunky star.
Sippy is quoted as saying in a media report, “We are trying our best to get Aishwarya finalised. The little uncertainty is only around Ash’s dates and that’s about it. Once that settles down, it should be all fine. Sorry, but there is no other story to be read between words here.”
Sippy is so intent on getting Ash for the role that he does not even an alternative in mind in case the Bachchan bahu doesn’t give a green signal to his project.
“Actually I am not even thinking in this direction,” comments Sippy, “I am quite positive that she would be on board. It is an interesting project for both John and Ash and I am sure they both would rock as a pair.”
The film is reported to be a love story and will be directed by Sriram Raghavan , who last directed Johnny Gaddaar and Ek Haseena Thi .
Though John has worked with top female stars like Rani Mukherjee , Priyanka Chopra , Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta in the past, it would be for the first time that he would be sharing screen space with Ash.
Ash and John were in fact slated to come together in a film called Happy Birthday which incidentally had Raghavan at the helm. Thereafter due to production hassles involving producer Gaurang Doshi, the project was shelved. Hope this one sees the light of the day.
